Objective

Provide students the opportunity to learn new ways to use technology to help address critical problems and opportunities facing the university, its students, and the broader Los Angeles community.

The Innovation Challenge offered by UCLA Epicenter professionally prepares students as future entrepreneurs and exposes them to real-world problems that arise in the technology workplace. Harman International has signed on as an industry partner for the Winter 2024 challenge. Senior Harman staff will serve as guest speakers, subject matter experts, and industry coaches for students, resulting in Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) created by students solving 2 of Harman’s business problems. Past industry partnerships for the Innovation Challenge include AWS, Slalom, LA28 and LA County.

Teams of students will register to participate in the Innovation Challenge. At the orientation event, students will be provided with a well-defined scope and approach to 2 challenges. Teams will be given 8-weeks to generate ideas and technical architectures for proposed solutions.
